Chaos, adventure, and uncertainty are the reasons I wanted to travel. I’ve always felt there should be more excitement in my life and the urge to travel could not be denied so I hit the road in March 2017 and haven’t looked back. I started to feel like I had missed out on travel experiences that some of my younger peers had with studying abroad or backpacking through Europe on a “Gap Year.” I had never lived outside of my home city of Sacramento, CA and had only left the States twice in my life (both times on a cruise ship to Mexico) so the call to adventure was ripe with opportunity.

After I graduated from university in 2015 at the ripe age of 26, I worked as a Foodservice Buyer for a large wholesale grocery company. For the next year I saved up money to escape my mundane life in search of some adventure by selling most of my possessions and renting out my house long-term. Leaving all my comfort and security at home was by far the best decision of my life and I’ve met some amazing people along the way whom I consider friends for life.

I built this site as a way to reflect on my travels and share what I and other travellers have learned on the road. After spending some time backpacking I learned rule #1 of traveling, always trust the traveler’s word-of-mouth. And that is the overall theme of this website.

I hope to make this site a place for fellow travelers to share their experiences about destinations around the world and to offer advice on where to go, what to do, when to visit, and anything else worth sharing. Diversity of thought is always encouraged as we all have our own way of traveling and experiencing a new culture.

We shall not cease from exploration

And the end of all our exploring

Will be to arrive where we started

And know the place for the first time.
